Yesterday I got to spend some quality time with Maggie. It doesn't happen very often, with my work and her naps, it's usually all four of us together. But the two of us went for a walk and surveyed the local bird population. It was nostalgic for me. It reminded me of strolling around Daegu with Cate three years ago, and how lucky I was to have that time with her while I stayed home and Carmen worked. I wish it was the same with my little Maggie Jane, but it's always about enjoying the moments. I'm a lucky dad, because there are still a lot of them.
I guess Father's Day is a time for reflection, so today I've been looking back fondly at, among other things, all that father-daughter time with Cate. She was confined to a stroller on those lovely, dingy and packed Korean streets back then, but our walks these days look a bit more like this:
